ROBERT C. LARA SR.

Robert C. Lara Sr. of Victoria, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007.

He was born September 5, 1949 in Victoria, to the late Francisco "Frank" Lara Sr. and Agueda "Agnes" Marinez Lara. He worked for Safety Steel and was a self-employed carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Manuela "Mamie" Postel Lara of Victoria; daughter, Lucy A Cano of Victoria; son, Robert C Lara Jr. of Victoria; sisters, Mary Sue L. Orton of Channelview and Diana M. Pereira of Victoria; brothers, Frank Lara Jr. of Victoria and Fabian Lara of Angleton; grandchildren, Ruben Cano Jr., Rene Cano, Desiree Valdez, Derek Valdez, Krysten Lauren Lara, Kamryn Marie Lara, Kaden Matthew Lara, Kayla B. Vasquez, Matthew Valdez, Joshua Valdez, and Kassandra Valdez.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Trinadad "Trine" Solorio Sappington; and brother, Servando Lara.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Grace Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with the Rev. Gabriel Otoo officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers are John Reyna, Richard Garcia, Robert C. Lara Jr., Kaden Matthew Lara, Ruben Cano Jr., Al Robles, Willie Martinez Jr., Fabian Lara, Billy Conchola, and Frank Anthony Lara.
